Lithium is a suite of network, server and storage monitoring applications with support for industry standard SNMP and proprietary monitoring protocols including those used by Apple’s Xserve, Xsan and Xserve RAID devices.

Previously, the Lights-Out Management (LOM) username and password has to be the same as the Mac OS X Server username and password that Lithium used for monitoring an Xserve. In Lithium 5.0 you can now specify separate LOM Username and Password credentials as well as defining the IP address of the LOM Port and the IP address of the Server.

This cuts down on the confusion and complexity of setting up an Intel Xserve for monitoring with Lithium and provides for greater flexibility in the authentication credentials.
